In August, the Texas PUC issued an order approving a nearly $5 billion plan to construct 2,400 miles of transmission lines that will accommodate over 18 GW of wind capacity, just 1,000 MW shy of the current installed wind capacity in the United States. Jess Totten of the Texas PUC will be on hand to talk about the order and to discuss next steps in the Texas CREZ process.
