MISSION STATEMENT |
The Forest & Fishery Products Division (FFPD) is dedicated to serving effectively the U.S. forest and
fishery sectors and the general public by providing global market
analysis, assistance on market access issues, and market
development programs and services to help expand U.S. forest and
fishery products exports and export opportunities. To succeed in this mission FFPD must: |

Implement a planning process,
coordinated with external partners, that identifies priority
market opportunities, trade constraints, and promotion
strategies. |

Implement cost effective programs and
services and activities. |
|
Provide high-quality customer service. |
|
Strengthen partnerships and linkages at home and
abroad. |

FOREST PRODUCTS
PROMOTION |
FFPD promotes the export of U.S. wood products
including hardwood and softwood lumber, plywood, veneer, molding,
flooring, glue-laminated timbers, oriented strand board (OSB),
laminated veneer lumber (LVL), wooden I-joists, wooden doors and
windows, prefabricated housing, and other value-added wood
products. It does not promote the export of U.S. logs or wood
chips. The promoted products are listed under Harmonized Code
Chapters 44 and 9406. |

FISHERY PRODUCTS
PROMOTION |
FFPD promotes the export of U.S. seafood
products. Important species include: lobster, salmon, squid,
monkfish, herring, mackerel, crab, catfish, fish roe, and surimi.
These products are listed under Harmonized Code Chapters 3 and
16. |
