Olympic National Indoor Stadium and Olympic Village

The following consortium won the ownership for the Olympic National Indoor Stadium and Olympic Village:

Olympic Shunyi Water Park

The Olympic Shunyi Water Park will be located in the northeast corner of Shunyi District, holding a planned construction area of 20,000 m2 with a total investment of approximately RMB756 million (USD 91.5 million). After the Olympic Games, the venue will be used for national and international sporting events and training, along with other public entertainment activities.

The Shunyi District Government, the decision-making authority for the design, construction, operation and maintenance for the Olympic Water Park, chose the following three ownership finalists:
Beijing Tian Hong Group Consortium
China State Construction Engineering. Consortium Group. (CSCEC)
Beijing Shun Xin Agriculture Ltd. Consortium

The owner will be chosen by the end of October 2003.

Olympic Convention Center

The Olympic Convention Center, totaling a construction area of 230,000m2, will principally be used for table tennis, fencing, modern pentathlon, wrestling and badminton matches during the Olympic Games. Part of the Convention Center will also be used during the Games to meet IBC (International Broadcast Center) and MPC (Major Press Center) requirements. After the Games, the Convention Center will be used for large conferences and exhibitions.

The owner will have to raise the estimated RMB 2.1 billion (USD 254 million) for the construction of the Convention Center, set to be completed before the end of December 2006.

The ownership finalists are:

Beijing North Star Industrial Ltd. Consortium;
Centergate Construction Group. Consortium (CENCONS);
China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation Consortium (CCECC).
