Michigan Incentives and Laws

Last Updated December 2007

The Michigan legislature is in continuous session with the new sessions starting in early January. During the session, the governor must sign or veto legislation within 14 days after transmittal or it becomes law without signature. However, if the legislature adjourns prior to the end of the 14-day time period, the governor's failure to act results in a pocket veto.

Michigan is the home of the Ann Arbor (www.aacleancities.org), Detroit (www.nextenergy.org/services/collaborativeprograms/wg_cleancities.aspxp), and Greater Lansing Area (www.michigancleancities.org) Clean Cities Coalitions.
