Anna Veterans Home

The Anna Veterans Home is located in the Anna-Jonesboro community in Union County. This modern, single story structure opened in August 1994. Situated on 16 acres, the Home provides light, intermediate, and skilled nursing care services to eligible veterans. The Home has a 50-bed nursing care capacity and twelve beds in six adjoining apartment-style domiciliary units.

IVH - Anna is near Interstate I-57 and Illinois Routes 127 and 146 in southern Illinois.

Directions to IVH - Anna

From I-57 exit 30, follow State Highway 146 west into Anna to Main Street. Turn north for approximately one mile, and the Home is on the east side. There are signs along the way.

LaSalle Veterans' Home

The LaSalle Veterans Home opened in December 1990. Located in a residential area on the northeast side of LaSalle in LaSalle County, on a campus of slightly more than four acres, the Home provides intermediate and skilled nursing services for veterans. They have a total capacity of 120 beds including 18 special needs beds for veterans suffering from Alzheimers Disease or related dementias.

IVH - LaSalle is near the crossing of I-80 and I-39 in northern Illinois.

Directions to IVH - LaSalle

From I-80 exit 77, follow State Highway 351 south approximately 1.7 miles to O'Conor Avenue. Turn east, and the Home is on the north side at the end of the first block. There are signs along the way.

Manteno Veterans' Home

The Manteno Veterans Home opened in 1986, located east of the city of Manteno in Kankakee County.

The home is located on a 122 acre campus and comprised of four major nursing care units and two ancillary service and support buildings. With a total capacity of 340 beds, the Manteno Home offers a broad and diverse range of programs and services to eligible veterans.

IVH - Manteno is located in north-central Illinois south of Chicago near I-57.

From I-57 exit 322, proceed east through Manteno, ending up on 9000N Road. Follow it east to 4000E Road. The entrance to the Home is one mile south. There are signs along the way.

Quincy Veterans Home

The Quincy Veterans Home is located in the northern part of picturesque, historic Quincy in Adams County. The Quincy home, founded in 1886, is the largest and oldest of the Illinois Veterans' Homes. It was the original Soldiers and Sailors Home until 1974 when the name was changed.

Sitting on 210 beautiful acres, the Home provides a broad range of facilities and services including domiciliary, intermediate and skilled care. With a total capacity of 683 beds, over 600 veterans and their spouses are currently in residence. The Home also provides a special needs unit for care of members with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia.

Sunset Cemetery, located on the campus, provides interment and perpetual care for eligible veterans and spouses. Over 7,000 veterans and spouses, dating back to the Civil War are at rest here.

Accommodations in the on-campus Northern Guest House are available to families of residents at a nominal charge.

IVH - Quincy is located in western Illinois near I-172 and also close to the Mississippi River.

From I-172 exit 14 (Broadway) follow State Highway 104 west through Quincy to 12th Street. Turn north and follow 12th Street. The Home is on the west side of the street. There are signs along the way.

Prince Home at Manteno



The Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs Prince Home at Manteno is a program for homeless and disabled Veterans located at the State Veterans' Home in Manteno, Illinois.

In 2006, Governor Blagojevich announced his vision for a new pilot program to give homeless Illinois Veterans housing and assistance at the State's Manteno Veterans' Home. The Prince Home at Manteno will help provide housing and supportive services for 15 disabled, homeless Illinois Veterans at a time. It will serve as a national model for how to overcome challenges in financing housing for disabled Veterans, including Veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

General Overview

The purpose of the Prince Home at Manteno is to serve Veterans who are homeless with respect and dignity. By providing housing, advocacy, therapeutic and supportive services, the Prince Home at Manteno fosters integrity, duty and commitment to equate individual growth and independence.

Mission

The Prince Home staff is made up of professionals who will work together as a team to provide each resident with the skills needed for successful independent living. The Prince Home provides a structured, safe and caring environment, in which a sense of dignity, belonging and achievement enhance the opportunity to succeed. It is the resident's responsibility to take advantage of these resources. The Prince Home is not a shelter, it is home and residents must participate in the entire scope of the curriculum, programs and activities.

Facility Details

Maximum occupancy of The Prince Home at Manteno is 15. The facility is wheelchair assessable, and provides residential housing for eligible male and female Veterans. It offers a community environment within its therapeutic milieu, one of structure, interdependence and care and concern. Volunteer work, employment and treatment compliance is correlated to the vision of total independence. Staff is proficient in addressing a multitude of challenges including but not limited to, homelessness, PTSD, sobriety, self esteem, and hopelessness.

Location

The Prince Home at Manteno is located in rural Manteno, Illinois in Kankakee County, just 40 miles south of Chicago, and shares the grounds with the Illinois Veterans' Home at Manteno.
