Christina Pharo was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as the United States Marshal for the Southern District of Florida on March 25, 2003. On March 31, 2003 she took the oath of office before U.S. District Judge Shelby Highsmith. Marshal Pharo was born and raised in Miami, Florida where, in 1988, she received her bachelor of science degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology from St. Thomas University.

In 1989 Christina began her Federal Law Enforcement career as a Deputy U.S. Marshal in Miami, Florida. In 1999 she was promoted to Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal where she oversaw the Miami Court Security section.

Christina has received numerous awards throughout her career with the United States Marshals Service, including the U.S. Attorneys Office Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer of the Year award.

Christina currently holds a position with the Human Resource Division Operational Program Review Panel, and various other committees at the United States Marshals Service Headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. In addition she is a member of the Southern District of Florida Terrorism Committee.
