Oregon Army National Guard Medevac helicopter aids life flight

Salem, Ore.-Due to the terrorist threats and the subsequent grounding of all civilian aircraft, the Oregon Army National Guard has responded to an emergency life flight request.

An Army National Guard Medevac helicopter from Salem's 1042nd Medical Company (Air Ambulance) is in route to Bend at the request of Life Flight to pick up and transport a seriously injured individual to a Bend hospital.

National Guard officials are working with officials at the national level to lift the flight ban for Life Flight and other emergency aircraft.
