National Guard soldiers to report to Sheldon Ridge Fire on Saturday
Salem - 127 Soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 218th Field Artillery headquartered in Portland of the Oregon Army National Guard will be finishing up there fire training in Portland today and head to the Sheldon Ridge Fire on Saturday, July 27. The Sheldon Ridge Fire is located five miles west of The Dalles and is threatening 200 residents and several outbuildings. The crews are each comprised of 20 soldiers and five support personnel.
