Susan Cullen

Susan M. Cullen is currently the director of the Office of Policy for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Ms. Cullen joined ICE as the legislative counsel in the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor in August 2004.

Prior to joining DHS, Ms. Cullen served as an assistant counsel with the U.S. Senate Office of the Legislative Counsel from September 2000 to July 2004. While there, she drafted legislation, amendments, and conference report language related to federal immigration, bankruptcy and criminal law. Ms. Cullen also worked for two years as a staff attorney for the Indiana Legislative Services Agency in Indianapolis, drafting legislation and providing legal advice in the areas of consumer law, financial institutions, business associations, and trade regulation for the Indiana General Assembly.

Ms. Cullen is a native of Brookfield, Wisconsin. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and received her J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law.
