Toledo Patrol Officer to be promoted to rank of Brig. General, Oregon Army National Guard
In a ceremony scheduled for July 31, 2008 at 9 a.m. Colonel B. Enyeart will be promoted to the rank of Brigadier General by Major General Raymond F. Rees, The Adjutant General of the Oregon National Guard. The ceremony will take place at Heritage Park adjacent to the Joint Force Headquarters, 1776 Militia Way S.E. in Salem, Ore.
Family, friends, as well as media are invited to attend.
David B. Enyeart enlisted in the United States Army on 30 October 1978. He received his initial training as a Military Police Officer at Fort McClellen, Alabama. On 29 June 1985, he graduated Officer Candidate School from the Oregon Military Academy, and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant, Infantry Branch. He was assigned as a platoon leader at Company A, 2nd Battalion, 162nd Infantry and later served as a Mortar Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, Company Commander, and Battalion S3. On 1 August 1998, LTC Enyeart took command of the 2nd Battalion 162nd Infantry. On 2 August 2002, LTC Enyeart was appointed the Brigade Executive Officer of the 41st Brigade Combat Team. In 2004 he was called to Active Duty to serve as a Commander, Brigade Embedded Trainer in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. He served with the 76th Infantry Brigade out of Indiana and was part of an elite team sent to Afghanistan to recon the pending mission for the 41st BCT. On 18 February 2005, LTC Enyeart was promoted to Colonel and appointed as the Task Force Deputy Commander for Task Force Phoenix III. After returning to the United States, he was assigned as the Deputy Commander for the Combined Joint Task Force Phoenix V, which deployed to Afghanistan in June of 2006- June 2007. Colonel Enyeart assumed command of the 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team on August 1st, 2007. Colonel Enyeart's current position is the Oregon Assistant Adjutant General Army.
Colonel Enyeart has received the Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf cluster, Humanitarian Service Medal with bronze star, Army Commendation Medal with six oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with oak leaf cluster, Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forced Reserve Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Army Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon (3), Oregon Exceptional Service Medal, Oregon Meritorious Service Medal, Oregon Faithful Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Oregon Emergency Services Ribbon with three oak leaf clusters, and the Oregon Superior Soldier Ribbon with three oak leaf clusters.
Colonel Enyeart has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Oregon and a Masters of Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College. Colonel Enyeart graduated the Basic and Advanced Police Safety Standards Training Academy in 1999 and currently serves the community of Toledo, Oregon as a Patrol Officer.
