Oregon Army Guard to provide support for the Turner Creek Fire
 
Currently there is a fire burning nine miles south of Imnaha, Ore. The Turner Creek Fire started on Sept. 9, 2005 and is now at 1,800 acres. Yesterday this fire was only 260 acres. The Oregon National Guard will provided one UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter and medevac crew from the Army Aviation Support Facility in Salem, Ore. The 1042nd Medical Company will be providing these assets. The Blackhawk will position at the Army Aviation Support Facility #2 in Pendleton, Ore. and will respond to requests from the Oregon Emergency Management and the Oregon Department of Forestry for emergency medical support and/or evacuation. These soldiers will be in a state active duty status
