Oregon Army National Guard supports rescue
 
The Oregon Army National Guard launched two UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters at 8:55 a.m. today from the Army Aviation Support Facility #1 in Salem to aid in the rescue of a person on the east side of Mount Hood.
 
The Office of Emergency Management said the person is lying motionless in the snow at a location near Government Camp.
 
The UH-60 Blackhawk is a state of the art helicopter capable of diverse missions. The helicopters flown by the ORARNG can be used for search and rescue missions, as air ambulances, for fighting forest fires, and a variety of other missions.
 
The Oregon National Guard provides the state with more than 8,000 Soldiers and Airmen who can respond to a wide range of emergencies.
 
The Oregon National Guard will provide more details as they become available.
