Oregon Army National Guard set to resume search Tuesday

The Oregon Army National Guard will resume the search tomorrow for a woman believed to be missing near Drain in Douglas County.

Aircrews began searching Christmas Day for Melody Lloyd after she disappeared while traveling from Reedsport to Eugene. During her travel she called a friend on her cell phone and said she believed she had suffered a stroke.

An OH-58 Kiowa and crew assisted the search on Dec. 25, and a UH-60 Blackhawk and crew assisted the search today. Both aircraft launched from the ORARNG Army Aviation Support Facility in Salem.

The ORARNG plans to launch an OH-58 Kiowa Dec. 27 if needed, and a UH-60 Blackhawk configured for aero medical evacuation will be on stand-by.

The Douglas County Sherriff's office is the lead agency for the search.
