Army Guard Blackhawk lands at Altenbacher Park in Eugene
The UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter that was dispatched to assist in medevac operations near Cottage Grove, Ore., has landed at Altenbacher Park in Eugene, Ore. From there the accident victim will be transported by ambulance to Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene.
The Oregon Army National responded to this request for assistance from Lane County as Lifeflight was not available.
The helipad at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene is not configured to accommodate the weight of the Blackhawk forcing them to land at the park.
