Purpose

The NIH has recently made a change in the designation of the extramural staff responsible for the management of the peer review process for grant applications and contract proposals; they also are the designated federal official responsible for the peer review meeting.  Instead of Scientific Review Administrator, these individuals will be known as Scientific Review Officers.  This new title is a more appropriate reflection of their major focus on scientific rather than administrative activities

Over the next several months documents, websites, and other information items will be updated with the new title.
