Austin,
TX – Cornelius Craig Robinson, 48, who failed to appear for sentencing
for his involvement as the leader and organizer of an Austin area mortgage
fraud scheme, was arrested this afternoon in rural Caldwell County a few
miles west of Lockhart on FM 20. Robinson was arrested this afternoon
without incident by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.
Robinson failed to appear for his scheduled
sentencing last week before United States District Judge Sam Sparks. In
addition to his current fraud conviction, Robinson has prior state
convictions for numerous assaults, assault with a deadly weapon, and theft.
LaFayette Collins, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas,
states, “The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force’s success is measured by the
collective efforts of our law enforcement partners. Cornelius Robinson will
be assured of his day in court”.
Members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in Austin are the Austin Police
Department – Intelligence Unit, Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop, Caldwell
County Sheriff’s Departments, Texas Rangers, and the U.S. Marshals Service. |
