Daytona Murder Suspect Arrested in
Patrick County |
|
Roanoke, VA - A 38 year old
Patrick County woman was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Blue Ridge
Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (BRFAST) task force and Patrick
County Sheriff’s deputies this morning on an outstanding murder
warrant from Daytona Beach, Florida. Juanita Lynn Liebman was
arrested at the residence of her mother in Ararat, Virginia on the
Florida homicide warrant and turned over to the Patrick Co.
Sheriff’s Office to begin extradition proceedings. Liebman faces
charges alleging that she and two men beat an individual to death in
a hotel room during the Biketoberfest motorcycle rally in Dayton
Beach on October 22, 2007. Both male suspects were apprehended, but
Liebman remained a fugitive.
After it was determined that Liebman had fled the state of Florida,
Volusia County Sheriff’s deputies requested the assistance of the
U.S. Marshals Orlando Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team who quickly
made her apprehension a priority by declaring her a Major Case
fugitive through U.S. Marshals Headquarters in Arlington, Virginia.
Florida investigators determined that Liebman may have fled to the
Ararat area and summonsed the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Office
in Roanoke and their BRFAST task force. Liebman was found hiding
behind some large boxes in her mother’s home in Ararat. She offered
no resistance during the arrest. She was booked into the Patrick
County Jail pending extradition back to Florida.
