PRISON ESCAPEE AND COCAINE KINGPIN “DADDY DAVE” GREEN
CAN’T ELUDE U.S. MARSHALS “15 MOST WANTED” LIST

Washington D.C. -- David Lee Green reputedly used a stun gun on his children and an iron fist with his narcotics distribution ring. Today, this violent drug kingpin and escaped federal prisoner scored a spot on the United States Marshals famed “15 Most Wanted Fugitives” list.

“Daddy Dave” Green is wanted for his June 19, 2000, escape from the Federal Correctional Institution in Elkton, Ohio, where he was serving a 235-month sentence for cocaine distribution. He also is wanted for possession of a machine gun by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia. Associates describe Green as a violent man who ruled his Cleveland, Ohio crime network by intimidation, and viewed himself as “the general of his army.” He used family vacation trips as a cover for transporting drugs, and was known for waking up his children with a stun gun. During the 1980s and ‘90s, Green flooded Cleveland with millions of dollars of cocaine.

“Everyone we’ve spoken to about this man, even at the prison he escaped from, fears David Green,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott, Northern District of Ohio. “He can be one of the most intimidating and dangerous men you’ll ever meet, but like a chameleon, he can blend into your neighborhood and may be living just down the street.” Due to the special notoriety of this case, the Outdoor Advertising Association of America has agreed to post Green’s wanted posters on highway billboards across the nation.

Quote from Director John F. Clark“David Green is a threat to the safety of any community where he hides,” said John F. Clark, Director of the United States Marshals Service. “But until he strikes, he uses his expertise at changing his appearance and identity to avoid capture.” The list of David Green’s firearms violations, car thefts, and narcotics convictions is as long as the list of alias names he has used throughout his criminal history.

Green, 67, has a four-inch scar on his forehead from a plastic surgery operation that went bad, constantly alters his facial hair, and wears different kinds of toupees and baseball caps to alter his looks. His alias names include: Daddy Dave, David Graff, Howard Green, Richard Green, Anthony Yonik, and Howard D. Green.

He is 5’8” tall and has a heavy muscular build. He weighs 208 pounds and is very conscientious about working out. He has a reputation as a womanizer and purports to have served as an Army “Airborne Ranger.” In truth, his problems with the law began in the 1960s when he deserted the Army and was charged under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for being absent without leave. Green has been featured on America’s Most Wanted programs on three occasions, and has been on the most wanted fugitive list in northern Ohio for two years. A reward of up to $25,000 is offered for information leading to Green’s arrest.

If you have information about Green’s whereabouts, immediately contact the nearest U.S. Marshals Service office or call the U.S. Marshals hotline at 1-800-336-0102. Green’s wanted poster is attached below. For more information, see the U.S. Marshals website: www.usmarshals.gov.
