CAPITAL MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED BY TASK FORCE

Lone Star Fugitive Task Force LogoAUSTIN – Sandra Rosedale Gaitan, 24, of Houston was arrested last night at approximately 9:00 pm in the 1200 block of E. Old Settlers Blvd., in Round Rock by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and the Round Rock Police Department. Gaitan was sought by the task force pursuant to a Capital Murder charge out of Harris County. An investigation initiated by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force, a U.S. Marshals Service sponsored fugitive task force out of Houston determined Gaitan fled the area after a murder where Gaitan is alleged to have participated in the 2002 homicide of a 16 year old male in Houston. The Houston homicide appeared to have been gang related.

Local investigation by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force determined that Gaitan had been living in the Round Rock area and was arrested without incident after she was located, identified and confronted by the task force.

Gaitan was remanded to the custody of Travis County Jail pending extradition to Harris County.

Members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in Austin are the Austin Police Department – Intelligence Unit, Travis County Sheriff’s Department, Hays County Sheriff’s Department, Williamson County Sheriff’s Department, Texas Rangers, and the U.S. Marshals Service.
