DFW FAST Captures Suspect in High
School Coach’s Murder |

Dallas, TX - According to Dallas
Police reports, on August 20, 2007 two unknown males approached
Samuel West, 63, in the parking lot of a church in the Oak Cliff
area of Dallas. West was robbed by the two men and shot and killed.
West was a Kimball high school coach. The unknown males fled the
scene. On August 23, 2007 Dallas Police homicide detectives
identified Jajuan Foster, 19, and Gcorey Jones, 18, as primary
suspects in the coach’s murder. Arrest warrants for Capital Murder
were issued in the early morning hours of August 24, 2007. On August
24, 2007 Dallas Police SWAT officers arrested Jones, but Foster
managed to elude law enforcement officers. After eluding law
enforcement for three days, Dallas Police Officers, Deputy Sheriffs
and Deputy United States Marshals assigned to the Dallas Fort Worth
Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (DFW FAST) developed information
that Foster was hiding out at 2710 Jeffries Dallas, Texas. At
approximately 4:10 pm on August 28, 2007 DFW FAST Strike Team
Officers surrounded the location and arrested Foster without
incident.
According to Randy Ely, United States Marshal for the Northern
District of Texas, the main function of DFW FAST is to coordinate &
assist state and local departments in the apprehension of violent
criminals. By working together, DFW FAST has managed to arrest over
5500 violent criminals since 2004. DFW FAST consists of thirteen
agencies including the Dallas and Fort Worth Police Departments.
