MURDER
SUSPECT ARRESTED IN CENTRAL OHIO
Columbus, Ohio -
A man accused of the April 25, 2007 murder of Kenneth B. Crawford
was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Services’ Southern Ohio
Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) in Columbus, Ohio today.
Jaquel Gore was arrested at 2216 Perkins Court in Columbus. The
Columbus police Department had issued a warrant for Gore’s arrest on
June 20, 2007. The arrest warrant alleges that Gore shot and killed
Kenneth B. Crawford on 4/25/07 at the intersection of East 8th
Avenue and Hamlet Street in Columbus at approximately 7:44 pm.

On June 28, 2007, SOFAST received information that Gore was staying
at his mother’s house at 2216 Perkins Court, Columbus OH. SOFAST
responded to the address and arrested Gore without incident.
The SOFAST task force was formed by the Marshals Service in 2005 as
a joint federal, state and local law enforcement endeavor to pursue
and arrest dangerous fugitives wanted at the international, national
and state level. U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio,
James Wahlrab, said “This arrest was a collaborative effort by the
U.S. Marshals, Columbus Police, the Franklin County Sheriff’s
Department, Grove City Police, Whitehall Police, Ross County
Sheriff’s Department, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and the
Ohio Adult Parole Authority. I am pleased with the diligent
investigation, timely response, and sound tactics that were used in
today’s apprehension.”
