Capital Murder Suspect Arrested by U.S.
Marshals Task Force

Metro Fugitive Task Force (EMFTF) members arrested James Deltoro on
Thursday May 3rd, 2007 in Owatonna, MN. Deltoro is the suspect in
the Capital Murder of a child under six in Lancaster, TX (Dallas
County).
According to reports, on 01/18/2007 Deltoro was baby sitting his
girlfriend’s four year old son when he called and stated the child
had fallen down the stairs and was not breathing. Six days after the
child was admitted to the hospital, he died of his injuries. Doctors
believed the injuries were caused by significant trauma, on the
scale of a major motor vehicle accident. After learning this
information, Detectives from the Lancaster Police Department
attempted to interview Deltoro and were unable to locate him. On
03/28/2007, Detectives from the Lancaster Police Department referred
the Capital Murder case to the U.S. Marshals Dallas Fort Worth
Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (DFW F.A.S.T.).
Deputies in Dallas developed information that Deltoro had fled to
Minnesota. Members of the EMFTF tracked down Deltoro in Owatonna.
Deltoro was arrested without incident and is awaiting extradition to
Dallas County.
The EMFTF is sponsored by the U.S. Marshals in the District of
Minnesota. EMFTF includes officers from the Ramsey County Sheriff’s
Office, Minnesota Department of Corrections, Housing and Urban
Development Office of the Inspector General, Minneapolis Police
Department, Hennepin County Parole and Probation and the Social
Security Office of the Inspector General.
