FUGITIVE’S 1 1/2 YEAR RUN
COMES TO AN END
The Kansas Apprehension Task Force, a
multi-jurisdictional fugitive task force comprised of the United States
Marshals Service, Topeka Police Department, Shawnee County Sheriffs
Department, and Kansas Department of Corrections located and apprehended
David Lee Holmes JR. 23, on Tuesday, January 16, 2007. Holmes was
apprehended by officers as he ran out the back door of a residence in the
1200 block of SW 25th, Topeka, Kansas. Law enforcement officers have been
looking for Holmes on a federal drug indictment charging possession with
intent to distribute cocaine base (crack cocaine) since July 2005.
Also apprehended at the address following a
short standoff was federal fugitive Adrian Hopper, 27 who was wanted in
connection with an indictment charging possession with intent to distribute
crack cocaine, use of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime, and felon
in possession of a firearm stemming from an investigation by the Bureau of
Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Hopper is also wanted by Sedgwick County
Kansas for failure to appear on a weapons charge. |
