Arrest of Accused Child
Molester Frank Goodnight
Honolulu,
HI – Yesterday evening another child molester was taken off the
streets thanks to the team work of federal, state, and local
authorities. On September 12, 2007 at approximately 6:45 PM, the
Hawaii Fugitive Task Force led by the United States Marshals Service
along with Honolulu Sheriff’s Deputies, apprehended Frank Goodnight,
a 47 year old accused child molester from Pierce County, Washington.
Goodnight was arrested on a warrant issued out of the Superior Court
of Washington for Pierce County for failing to appear at a hearing
regarding charges of child molestation of a 13-year old girl on
March 07, 2006 at which time Goodnight became a fugitive.
After being on the run for more than
a year, Pierce County Sheriff’s contacted the U.S. Marshals Service
Western District of Washington, Tacoma Field Office for assistance
in locating the fugitive. After an intensive investigation, Tacoma
Deputy U.S. Marshals came across information indicating that
Goodnight may be residing at an address located in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Tacoma Marshals then contacted Hawaii Fugitive Task Force agents for
assistance in locating the fugitive. After a two day investigation,
Task Force agents and Honolulu Sheriff’s Deputies tracked Goodnight
to a local homeless shelter in Honolulu. Agents waited until
Goodnight showed up at the homeless shelter and apprehended the
fugitive without incident. Goodnight was booked into the Honolulu
Police Department cellblock while he awaits extradition hearings
back to Pierce County Washington.
Mark Hanohano, U.S. Marshal for the
District of Hawaii said in a statement; “The capture of fugitives
who prey on our keiki (children) is a priority of the Hawaii
Fugitive Task Force and the U.S. Marshals Service. We will
vigorously investigate, locate, and apprehend those accused of such
hideous crimes.”
The coordination and cooperation of
the arrest of this child molester was part of an operation put on by
the U.S. Marshals Service Western District of Washington and the
Pacific Northwest Fugitive Apprehension Task Force called Operation
Falcon. Operation Falcon focuses on the combined efforts of federal,
state, and local agencies working together to apprehend fugitives
for the most serious crimes. |
