Fugitive Wanted for Impregnating 12 Year Old Arrested by U.S. Marshals Task Force

Mary Esther, FL -The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Gregory Lynn Boyd; a fugitive wanted by authorities in Indiana for Child Molestation and Theft. The molestation warrant stems from allegations that Boyd, 43, impregnated a 12 year old girl in St. Joseph County, IN. The victim, who is now 14 gave birth to the child and it was later determined through forensic evidence that Boyd was in fact the father. Police reports indicate that Boyd was living with her and her family at the time the crime was allegedly committed. The Marshals Task Force members from Okaloosa and Escambia County Sheriff’s Offices and Ft Walton Beach Police Department and a K-9 Unit from Okaloosa caught up with Boyd at last night around 6:00 p.m. Boyd was arrested without incident at an address on the 500 block of Skylark Drive in Mary Esther. Also present during the arrest were investigators from the Okaloosa Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Unit, who are also Task Force members. Although Boyd has a $50,000 bond on the sex charge and a $5,000 bond on the theft charge, he was booked in at Okaloosa County Jail as a fugitive from justice and will remain there until Indiana extradites him back to St. Joseph County.

Several other wanted felons were also arrested last night by the North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force. Victor Dallas Thompson Jr., 33, was arrested after he tried to flee out of a back door of a residence located on the 700 block of Whippoorwill Lane in Destin. Thompson is wanted in Arkansas on several no bond warrants for Grand Theft Auto/Breaking and Entering, Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of a Controlled Substance violating his parole. Lynn Anne Barnes, 37, who is wanted on an Okaloosa warrant for Violation of Probation for Resisting Arrest with Violence, Absconding and Failing to Report while on probation; was captured at the home where she was staying on the 400 block of Woodrow Street in Ft. Walton Beach. Wayne Edward Grantham, 48, was apprehended with the aid of the K-9 Unit after he was found hiding in a make shift apartment in an old warehouse 157 South Main Street in Crestview, where the Task Force learned that he was hiding out. Grantham is wanted in Okaloosa for Resisting Arrest Without Violence, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and three counts of Passing Worthless Checks; all violations of his probation.
