Researchers of History and Geneology please note: This office deals with building preservation issues, not historical or genealogical research.
The Department of Veterans Affairs does not maintain veterans military service or patient residency records. For information on history or genealogical research, please contact the individual VA Medical Center/Hospital or VA National Cemetery facility involved. For Burial Records in VA National Cemeteries only, go to Locating Veterans Burial Records.
The main repository for Veterans-related records is the National Archives and Records Administration. For basic Genealogical information, visit the Genealogy Search site. For Military Service or Veterans Pension Records, visit the Military Records or Veterans Service Records sites. Also, visit Alternate Records Sources. For other information regarding records, see Obtaining Military Records. For a list of records about VA agency history located in the Archives, see VA History in Archives. We hope this provides you with successful research options.
