WASHINGTON, February 11, 2008 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) has found evidence that Triple K Cattle Dealers (Triple K) under the direction, management and control of George N. Kittle (Kittle), Ghent, New York, failed to pay sellers for its livestock purchases within the time period required by the Packers and Stockyards (P&S) Act.

On January 2, 2008, GIPSA filed a complaint against Triple K and Kittle. If the allegations are admitted, or proven in an oral hearing, Triple K and Kittle may be ordered to cease and desist from violating the P&S Act, suspended and assessed a civil penalty.

Triple K is registered as a dealer buying and selling livestock in commerce and as a market agency buying livestock in commerce on a commission basis. Kittle is President, 100% shareholder, and responsible for the day to day direction, management and control of Triple K.

The P&S Act is a fair trade practice and payment protection law that promotes fair and competitive marketing environments for the livestock, meat, and poultry industries.
