Current and historical data on the European Union in this issue refers to the EU-15. (Austria, Belgium/Luxembourg, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and United Kingdom).

 

Current and historical data on the Former Soviet Union (FSU-15) includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.  References to the FSU-12 include all of the above except for the Baltics (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania).
