Lands' End Women's Patent Leather Skinny Belt

We blame Patricia Field and the Sex and the City movie for the popularity of ugly wide belts like this one. Call us old, cranky, or unhip, but we'll take classic narrow belts over corsets any day. We like the looks of these skinny patent leather belts from Lands' End. Available in 6 colors and 6 sizes, the belts are 5/8" wide with silver-plated brass buckles, and cost just $24.50. So you can get 4 of them for less than the price of one Carrie Bradshaw monstrosity. And still be able to wear them long after the corset trend has passed.

Mikasa Brewmaster's Collection

Instead of tossing your guests a 6-pack of Budweiser, why not serve them a decent pilsner in a proper glass? Designed for beer aficionados, Mikasa's "Brewmaster's Collection" consists of 4 different 4-piece sets: Wheat glasses, pilsner glasses, varietal glasses, and a flight set (6-ounce glasses), shown here with the accompanying dark wood caddy. All glasses are dishwasher-safe and make great wedding/housewarming/holiday gifts. Especially if you wrap them up with some good beer.

Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Headphones

Time magazine calls these Monster Beats by Dr. Dre headphones "Chronically good." Rolling Stone calls them "truly badass." And CNET says that, in addition to delivering on bass, the headphones are "nicely warm and balanced in the mids and truly impressive in their delivery of high-end detail." We say: They better be impressive for $350! The glossy headphones feature XL speaker drivers, powered amplification, active noise canceling, iPhone compatibility, and Dr Dre's stamp of approval. And they ship with several useful accessories, including AAA batteries, a hardshell carrying case, two 3.5mm audio cables, and an airplane adapter.

Orvis Anti-Tail-Wagging Furniture

How many times has your happy, lovable dog wagged his or her tail so hard near the coffee table that a glass of wine went flying onto your why-did-I-ever-choose-such-a-light-color carpet? Luckily you don't have to put Fido in the basement during your next cocktail party, thanks to Orvis' wag-proof furniture. Both the coffee table and the end table have recessed areas where you can keep your wine glasses and other breakable items safe from dogs' tails. The coffee table even has a sliding tray, so you can protect that cheese plate from your dog's mouth, should you need to leave the room.
