As an actress, I can tell you, committing to a one-hour dramatic television series is a blessing and an enormous commitment. And a single-lead show, although surrounded by a wonderfully talented ensemble, is that much more difficult. First, there are the twelve to sixteen hour days. In addition there is the responsibility of delivering a real, sometimes funny, sometimes dramatic, and always emotional performance for nine straight months (the time it takes to produce a full season of episodes).
