The DOE Order 414.1C and Guide identify 10 software quality work activities that are to be performed using a graded approach. These 10 work activities are:
- software project management
- software risk management
- software configuration management
- procurement and vendor management
- software requirements identification and management
- software design and implementation
- software safety design
- verification and validation
- problem reporting and corrective action
- training of personnel in the design, development, use and evaluation of safety software.
