CHAMPVA Inhouse Treatment Initiative (CITI)

The CHAMPVA Inhouse Treatment Initiative (CITI) pronounced "city" is a voluntary program that allows for you, the CHAMPVA beneficiary, to be treated at participating VA Medical Centers with no out of pocket cost. Each VA medical center that participates in the CITI program offers different services based on unused capacity. Once you locate a CITI facility that you want to use, contact the CITI Coordinator to find out what services are offered at that specific medical center. Unfortunately however, if you are a CHAMPVA beneficiary who is also covered by MEDICARE you cannot participate in the CITI program because MEDICARE does not pay for services provided by a VA Medical Center.

You can find the closest VA Medical Facility that participates in CITI by clicking here.
