Additional Information
- Passenger cars are charged the minimum entry fee only. This covers the first 320 pounds of garbage. All other vehicles, including station wagons, vans, mini-vans, pickup trucks, recreational vehicles, all-terrain vehicles and sports utility vehicles, are weighed in and out and charged for actual weight disposed, based on the per-ton fee.
- Yard waste-only rate applies to source-separated yard waste accepted at the Cedar Falls, Enumclaw and Shoreline stations only. The clean wood-only rate applies to source-separated clean wood accepted at the Enumclaw and Shoreline stations only. Passenger cars are charged the minimum entry fee only. The minimum fee covers the first 340 pounds of yard waste. All other vehicles, including station wagons, vans, mini-vans, pickup trucks, recreational vehicles, all-terrain vehicles and sports utility vehicles, are weighed in and out and charged for actual weight disposed, based on the per-ton fee. Cash, checks, Visa or MasterCard (debit/credit) are accepted.
- Unsecured Loads Fee - King County Code 10.12.040 (PDF) requires an unsecured load fee to be charged for vehicles arriving at transfer stations that do not have secured loads. These fees are in addition to any penalties or fines for unsecured loads by law enforcement officers. If a law enforcement officer stops you, the fine for transporting an unsecured load is $216. If an item falls out of or off your vehicle and causes bodily injury, you will be charged with a gross misdemeanor, which carries a penalty up to $5,000 and may include jail time.
