Since the South Florida Program was first initiated in 1994, NOAA has
supported a diverse suite of research, modeling and monitoring activities
in South Florida focusing on physical oceanography, nutrient inputs and
dynamics, water quality, atmospheric science, paleoecology, fisheries and
protected resources, and habitat characterization.
