PMF Class of 2008 Orientation and Training Program for Coordinators

PMF Class of 2008 Orientation and Training Program for Coordinators

COPY OF EMAIL SENT TO ALL AGENCY PMF COORDINATORS:

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) Eastern Management Development Center (EMDC), located in Shepherdstown, WV, is pleased to host the PMF Orientation and Training Program for the Presidential Management Fellows Program Class of 2008.

The following three sessions are scheduled to accommodate the PMF Class of 2008 Fellows:

Session 1: October 14-16, 2008 (Tuesday - Thursday)
Session 2: November 12-14, 2008 (Wednesday - Friday)
Session 3: January 21-23, 2009 (Wednesday - Friday)

Fellows from the PMF Class of 2007 who did not attend Orientation last year are eligible to attend a 2008 Orientation Session.

Please note that Fellows will only be able to complete the registration process and attend an orientation session after their agencies have reimbursed OPM for their appointment. Fellows should consult with you, as their Agency PMF Coordinator, and their Supervisors to ensure that reimbursements have been made.

We encourage you as Agency PMF Coordinators to share this information with those Fellows in your agency hired from the Class of 2008. All Fellows who register will be required to obtain approval by their Agency PMF Coordinator and Supervisor on their own. Upon submission of their registration, an automated email is sent to the Agency PMF Coordinator and Supervisor alerting them of the Fellows' registration. If an agency's Coordinator and/or Supervisor questions the registration, he/she should contact the PMF Program Office immediately. Some finalists anticipating an appointment may attempt to register, but will only be able to complete the registration process and attend the orientation once they have been appointed, are on-board, and the hiring agency has reimbursed OPM for the appointment.

We encourage Agency PMF Coordinators to register and attend; however, space is limited to accommodate Fellows first. Registered Coordinators may have to wait 1-2 weeks prior to the session before finalizing registration in order for us to accommodate Fellows first. There is no tuition cost for Coordinators, but travel and per diem costs are at your agency’s expense. Cost for meals (valued at the full meals portion of the GSA per diem) will be listed on your hotel bill. Registration for Agency PMF Coordinators is exactly the same as Fellows; however, Coordinators do not need to provide additional approval information and must select the checkbox indicating he/she is an Agency PMF Coordinator when registering. If prompted to provide information for required fields, Coordinators are asked to repeat their contact information and use the date he/she became the Agency PMF Coordinator.

Information about the orientation and how to register can be found under the "Training\Orientation" webpage.

The dress code for all sessions is business casual. Complete information about the program's theme, registration process, and lodging and travel details can be found on the above webpage.

We welcome your participation and appreciate your support for the PMF Program in your agency.
