CSEPP WEB-MEDIS Patient Tracking System
ORISE designed, developed, and has deployed the WeB-MEDIS system for the Department of Homeland Security’s Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP). WeB-MEDIS is a Web-based patient tracking system designed to provide emergency responders and hospitals with a highly portable system for inputting, sharing and tracking patient data from the field.
Patient vital signs, contamination, and transportation status are entered into a Palm or Pocket PC PDA. Based on jurisdictional procedures, patient status can be viewed by the receiving facilities and emergency operations centers in the region by using WeB-MEDIS.
WeB-MEDIS:
- Developed with guidance from firefighters, paramedics and hospital staff.
- Uses lower cost, commercial off-the-shelf components that can be quickly replaced if lost, destroyed or broken.
- Incorporates initial planning integration and training.
- Includes customization of application and hardware to fully integrate into your organization’s operational procedures and protocols.
- Includes both Wi-Fi and cellular wireless options to assure connection to the Internet and the WeB-MEDIS server.
- Demonstrated at Pueblo, Colorado, and Tooele, Utah, CSEPP exercises, as well as, at Department of Veterans Affairs mass casualty exercises.
