Project Highlight: Self-Directed Study—Nuclear Regulatory Commission

Client: Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Associate Director for Training and Development, Technical Training Center, Office of Human Resources

ORISE supports the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC) training and development program with the design, development, and delivery of directed self-study courses.

The courses allow individuals to study at their own pace and to self-check their progress while remaining current on regulations. These courses include:

Recent revisions to NRC regulations and policies make it essential to update the current courses to train NRC personnel on topics covered by the new regulations, such as 10 CRF Part 70. These updates should also address changes in the inspection program as well as address new technology and approaches.

The courses allow individuals to study at their own pace and to self-check their progress. They also prepare individuals for an exam administered by the training coordinator.
