The Oregon Department of Transportation divides its highway operations into five geographical regions. Each region is responsible for developing and managing the construction of highway projects, plus the maintenance of state, federal and interstate highways within its boundaries.

Project Offices
Project offices monitor the day-to-day activities of construction projects on state highways within specific geographical areas. Project managers make sure construction is done to ODOT specifications and that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Project managers also act as a liaison between contractors and neighbors should conflicts arise concerning work schedules, property impacts, etc.

Maintenance District Offices
ODOT’s district maintenance offices are responsible for taking care of the interstate, federal and state highways within their boundaries. Duties include patching pot-holes and repairing damaged guardrails in the summer months to plowing snow and applying sand and anti-icing chemicals in the winter. District offices also issue permits for roadside signs, driveways connecting to state highways and roadside excavations.

OTIA III Bridge Delivery Program
OTIA III is the third Oregon Transportation Investment Act. Enacted by the 2003 Legislature, the $2.46 billion OTIA III allocates $1.3 billion to repair or replace hundreds of aging state highway bridges. This work will be accomplished during the next eight to 10 years by ODOT with its OTIA III Sate Bridge Delivery Program.
