U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE TRADE MISSION TO PANAMA
The U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce is organizing a Trade Mission to Panama from October 26 to 29, 2008. The delegation will be open to U.S. firms representing a cross section of U.S. industries with growing potential in Panama, including, but not limited to:

- Construction Equipment
- Consumer Goods (electronics, apparel, sporting goods, cosmetics, hardware/tools, etc.)
- Electric Power Equipment
- Hotel and Restaurant Equipment
- Medical Equipment
- Materials Handling Equipment

The participation fee is $1,560 for a small or medium-sized enterprise* and $1,850 for large firms. The fee for each additional representative from the same company is $450. Expenses for hotel, airfare, gratuity, select meals, and incidentals will be the responsibility of each mission participant. Final selection of participants will be confirmed after a review to ensure market suitability.
The fee includes personalized appointment scheduling for one (1) company representative and inclusion in all mission-related activities, including:
- One-on-One personalized business appointments for two full days (with InterContinental buffet lunch).
- Conference Call with U.S. Embassy staff to review your specific goals and objectives.
- Airport Transfers (must travel on suggested mission flights for transfers) and group ground transportation in Panama City.
- U.S. Embassy rates with InterContinental Miramar Panama (must book through mission coordinator; rate includes buffet breakfast) or nearby hotel.
- Cocktail reception at U.S. Ambassador's residence.
- Panama Canal Zone Procurement Briefing.
- Colon Free Zone Optional Visit and 1-on-1 Meetings for select industries (consumer electronics, apparel, sporting goods, cosmetics, hardware/tools). Please note, transportation to/from Colon not included in participation fee (estimated train/taxi expense is $150). However, guide to/from Colon is included.

*A Small or Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) is defined as a firm with 500 or fewer employees or that otherwise qualifies as a small business under SBA regulations. Parent companies, affiliates, and subsidiaries will be considered when determining business size.
