ORISE developed training to educate health professionals on how to access and use NLM's extensive environmental health, toxicology, and medical databases.
Cardiovascular Public Health Training and Technical Support
For the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention, ORISE conducts training, develops computer-based training products, and prepares resource materials that help state agency staff implement heart disease and stroke prevention programs.
Self-Directed Study—Nuclear Regulatory Commission
ORISE supports the NRC’s training and development program with the design, development, and delivery of directed self-study courses. The courses allow individuals to study at their own pace and to self-check their progress while remaining current on regulations.
Kentucky Statewide Emergency Communication Training
ORISE and the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Service’s Department for Public Health collaborated on the Kentucky Strategic National Stockpile Emergency Communication Guide. The guide assists state and local public health and public information officers in their response to a public health emergency. ORISE also trained public information professionals in health and education departments and organizations statewide on how to use the guide.
Communicating Beryllium Health Risks Training
ORISE developed Communicating Beryllium Health Risks Training, which has been used by contractors across the DOE system to give beryllium workers the knowledge they need about how to work safely.
