2009 Cal Poly Ag Showcase/Green Careers in Agriculture Panel

The Cal Poly Ag Showcase is an annual career fair presented by Cal Poly’s Agri-business Management Club and the National Agri-Marketing Association. Over 70 agriculture companies from around California and the nation will be in attendance, sharing information with students about internship and job opportunities. Takes place Tuesday, January 13th from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Chumash Auditorium on Cal Poly SLO Campus. For more information contact:

Good Food Film Screening, Santa Cruz CA

CCOF supports Transition Santa Cruz as a co-sponsor of the screening of the 2008 documentary Good Food: anintimate look at the farmers, ranchers and businesses that are

creating a more sustainable food system in the PacificNorthwest. The film screening will be followed by a discussion about sustainable food systems with Darrell Wong of Free Wheelin’ Farms. Future of Local Food: Slide Show and Community Event, Santa Cruz, CA
Transition Santa Cruz will be hosting a two-day event that invites

attendees to explore the next steps in moving towards a re-localized

food system. The first day includes a farm slide show and panel conversation

titled “The Future of Local Food.” Day two will begin with a community conversation

about the future of local food. The day-long conversation will be an “Open Space” meeting facilitated by Tim Galarneau of CASFS. One of the goals of this event

will be to resurrect the Food Systems Network which last met in 2005, as an

informal network of organizations invested in creating locally based food systems.

Paper Submission Deadline: IFOAM Conference on Organic Animals and Plant Breeding, Santa Fe, NM

IFOAM and Seeds of Change jointly host a Breeding Diversity conference to bring together experiences and views from a wide range of perspectives on organic breeding.
