Currently New York is the only state participating in the Federal/State Filing Program.  Submission of Federal and State returns, at the same time through the Federal/State filing program is also a great benefit.  This joint filing option benefits the states and banks because the Form 1041 can contain several thousands of Schedules K-1.  Electronic filing saves time, reduces the filer’s burden and offers one-stop preparation and filing.
