While SXI is an operational instrument, it has tremendous potential for scientific use as well. These links below provide critical information needed by researchers on the instrument, its operation, and the data products and software available for use in analysis. Please note that while other references are provided on this website, the operations, performance, and data product information presented in this User's Guide is the most up to date. In the event of a conflict, Science User Guide information supercedes information in earlier references.
Instrument and Operations
- An overview of the instrument design and how it works. Also, a description
of how NOAA operates the instrument, processes the data, and distributes the
data.
Instrument Performance
Summary - Contains plots and digital data on instrument performance
including sensitivity, spectral bands, and spatial resolution. Data are
available as plots and as SolarSoft GENX files.
Data Products and Software
- A description of data products including research grade FITS files.
Also, an outline of IDL software compatible with SolarSoft for use with SXI
data.
