The DMV announces that it will issue e-mail and telephone vehicle registration renewal reminders as of January 1, 2009. The Division will no longer mail paper vehicle renewal notices, which will save approximately $130,000 a year. Mail-in registration renewal notifications for vehicles that are not required to be inspected shall continue to be mailed out to customers, with the exception of those who provide an e-mail or telephone number upon request. The DMV has already begun accepting e-mail and telephone information from walk-in customers. This new process is a continuance of the DMV's efforts to offer its services on-line for the convenience of Delaware citizens and to continue its focus on efficiency.
