Alaska Gas Pipeline

Alaska Gas Pipeline LogoThe BLM’s primary role in a gas pipeline project will be to participate in an environmental analysis and grant a right-of-way across federal land in Alaska. The BLM's Point of Contact in Alaska is Ramona Chinn, Deputy State Director for the Division of Alaska Lands.

The transport and marketing of Alaska's natural gas has been a 30-year goal of the state of Alaska, the federal government, and industry. Construction of a pipeline to bring Alaska's known gas reserves to market is a significant on-going effort.

The Alaska Natural Gas Pipeline Act (ANGPA), Public Law 108-324, was signed by the President on October 13, 2004.
