Oregon Sea Grant, founded in 1968 and based at Oregon State University, supports research, education and public outreach to help people understand, responsibly use, and conserve ocean and coastal resources.

We're part of a national network of Sea Grant College Programs, organized under the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in collaboration with major universities and in partnership with hundreds of public and private marine enterprises.

Oregon Sea Grant gets a new director

Stephen Brandt, head of NOAA's Great Lakes Environmental Research Lab, will become director of Oregon Sea Grant in January, 2009, succeeding the recently retired Robert Malouf.
