The Wisconsin State Historical Society, on the campus of the University of Wisconsin in Madison, is the repository of the papers of many key figures in the early history of Social Security, including Arthur Altmeyer, Wilbur Cohen, Edwin Witte, and others. It is a major resource for historical research on Social Security.
