Oregon State Library’s Special Collections houses manuscripts, photographs, older Oregon documents, Oregon maps, and books and periodicals on numerous Oregon-related topics. Many items in the collection are rare or fragile and require special handling or protection due to their value or condition.

The materials in Special Collections are non-circulating and special restrictions apply to their use. Requests to use specific items from Special Collections may be made at the Reference Desk on the second floor, or by contacting Dave Hegeman at dave.b.hegeman@state.or.us  24 hours advance notice is needed to retrieve some materials from the collection.
