SeaWiFS had a nice clear view of sourthern Africa including the Cape Town, South Africa area where yacht crews in the Volvo Ocean Race are currently preparing for the second leg of the race. The ocean all around the southern tip of Africa is visibly green with abundant phytoplankton populations. The blooms help to visualize eddies and other current patterns in the region thought which the yachts will be sailing on their way to Australia.
