Current MeF Stylesheets

External stakeholders (states, software developers, taxpayers) requested that IRS share the stylesheets used to display corporate, exempt organization, partnership and excise returns and attached forms on Modernized e-File.

IRS agreed to provide access to stylesheets used to display corporate, exempt organization, partnership and excise returns. The stylesheets may be used by software developers, states and/or taxpayers to incorporate into their programs as appropriate. IRS has provided basic instructions which may be used to access the stylesheets but can only provide limited support during installation or trouble shooting. Do not call the e-Help Desk with technical questions. Technical questions should be submitted to the1120 Mailbox, TE/GE-EO-e-file Mailbox, 1065 Mailbox or ETEC Mailbox where IRS technicians will answer questions as time permits.

  • The zipped XSL files contain the XSL, CSS, and GIF files (images, java script, and CSS file) used to display the available return families ( 990, 1065, 1120, 2290, 720, 8849 etc).
  • When the "zip" files are "unzipped", the user should go with the default saved path names (unless they want to change the path references in CommonPathRef.xsl).
  • The XSL file "populateTemplate.xsl" was modified to be compatible with Microsoft's XML parser. The original version of this file is in sub-directory "OrigVersion".
